Pampered Chef Fundraising Opportunity

The Stony Brook Marching Band and the Stony Brook Athletics Band Alumni Group would like to invite you to take part in our Pampered Chef Fundraiser! By participating in this event, you will be helping our SBU Athletic Bands with buying new instruments, uniforms, and giving them the opportunity to travel to away games with our sports teams.

We will be running the fundraiser from Oct 1-15 and products will be delivered about 10 days after that.  We can take ‘early bird’ orders and anyone who places an order before Oct 2 will be entered in a raffle for a free cookbook of their choice.

To view the products and place an order, please click on this link: http://www.pamperedchef.biz/pamelapfeil?page=host-search-results&showId=3260657

Pampered Chef products are great gift items and there’s nothing wrong with early holiday shopping! Please share this with your friends and family – we appreciate all the help we can get!

Thank your for your support! If you have any questions about our fundraiser or organization, please do not hesitate to contact me at any time.

The band is headed to the Columbus Day Parade

The NYC Columbus Day Parade, the second most watched parade in the world next to the NYC Thanksgiving Day parade, has just infused a dose of swagger into its line up, as it has invited the Spirit of Stony Brook to perform this year, in the 67th annual parade!

Leading the band in the parade will be Stony Brook University’s President Samuel L. Stanely, Jr., MD, Mr. Richard T. Nasti, president of the Stony Brook Foundation, a member of the Stony Brook Council, distinguished alumnus, and the best college mascot in all of America, Wolfie.

Check out what the Stony Brook’s President, Samuel L. Stanely says about the band participating in the parade here.

“This band first performed together just five years in 2006,” said Dr. Jerrold L. Stein, Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, “To be invited to perform at one of the  marquee parades in the biggest city ion the world and to have accomplished all that they have in this short time – is a remarkable achievement.”

Check out the article written on Stony Brook University’s website here.

What are you doing this Monday? If you have some free time, curl up in your snuggy and turn on your tv OR even better, head to the city to support your fellow Seawolves!!! The Parade will take place on Monday, October 10, 2011, and will be broadcast live from Fifth Avenue in Manhattan on WABC from 12 Noon to 3:00pm E.S.T.
